Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 processing merges level 1 and level 2 atmospherically corrected and radiometrically corrected data into a single scene-based product. This is a feature that allows a user to download these bands in a single package and ensures that they can be used for analysis after extraction.
There are a few cases where we have bundled a subset of the metadata together called AMT-MMT. In addition to these, any bands that are used in the band combination operations of the Ancillary Metadata Tables (AMTs) are also considered metadata. Examples of bands that are considered metadata include the Visible, Near-Infrared, Shortwave-Infrared, and Thermal Infrared. Multiple bands are considered metadata instead of data in the MODIS science data archive terminology.
